Even Higher perceived quality
With its new Coupé Laguna, Renault continues its return to French high-end car making. Faurecia has rolled out its entire skills base to support the diamond brand in its quest for a higher level of perceived quality by manufacturing no fewer than four key modules.
Faurecia has channeled all its engineering skills and innovation capacity into the "Premium" segment to address Renault’s new ambitions to produce a quality sports tourer. The equipment supplier was responsible for the instrument panel and its center console, the complete seats, the exhaust system, and the acoustics package for the new Laguna Coupé.
Faurecia had to meet three key requirements:
-- Perceived quality and harmony of interior design (exceptionally fine adjustments, space management, decorative elements, materials that were bright yet soft to the touch, etc);
-- Modular seats (an efficient and simple locking system, frames with a wide variety of settings using tracks, and precise, regular and gentle seat movements etc.);
-- The environment, applying an ecodesign process using recycled polypropylene in the plastic components that should enable Renault to reach a recyclability quotient of 50 kilos per vehicle by 2015.
